About Ian Singer's Maternal Family Tree
Thanks to conversations with Richard Kallan (the grandson of Michel Kaplan)I have received and continue to receive much information regarding our family history! The mysteries surrounding Michel's death have been solved through an old article from the 1902 Shenandoah Evening Herald which is posted next to Michels name.

I am seeking more information with regard to Shukee (Shifki perhaps), Baby, and Ahuvah Shelamat Kaplan; they are listed as children of Abraham Zelig Kaplan who died at an early age in Lithuania. I have since located the brothers, father, and grandfather of Abraham Zelig Kaplan in the prenumeration lists of Lithuania!

UPDATE: Sara Rebecca Kaplan fell ill and went to Meretz/Merkine (7 miles outside of Nemunaitis) and died on a Friday night. I am looking for information regarding this and where she is buried. This information came from the DVD of Anna Kaplan that Bruce Supowitz sent to me and was made in 1985. There is a new picture of Sara Rebecca (the only one that I KNOW of)online! (There may be another one in the possession of Bess Klitzner).

Also I have recently been in contact with Eileen Brenner who has Avraham Zelig in her family tree. Her grandfather (who is buried in Shenandoah was Elias Supowit)and dropped (she knows not why) the 'z' from Supowitz. She confirmed that she is in fact related to Charles Supowitz. She implied through the statement "the Bradebords and Kaplans intermarried and there were/are some in St. Clair" that there were/are Bradebords here in America....this is only beginning to get interesting! I will keep everyone updated!

Also we now know the 3rd wife of Isadore Kaplan was in fact Edy Kucheroff. This has been verified by Richard Kallan.

Any information you can provide in terms of digital photos of ancestral photos or scanned ancestral photos, photos of the Harris Bakery, Kehillath Israel Cemetery, Kozy Korner, Kehillath Israel Shul, or the houses where everyone resided in Shenandoah/Mahanoy City would be extremely helpful.

You can contact me at either islandparrot25@gmail.com

All help would be extremely appreciated. I am currently seeking information from Lithuania (Kovno Ga Berna, Butraminz, Baltermanz, Nemunaitis, and Meretz/Merkine as well!)
 Check back for updates!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
